ReviveFix help

What it does

ReviveFix checks the shared folders (network drives, NAS) and printers on this PC, fixes what is safe to fix, and explains the rest. Click “Find and fix problems”. You do not need to know what is broken.

What the marks mean

  • ✓ Works normally.
  • ✔ Was broken, and ReviveFix fixed it.
  • ⚠ Can be fixed after you confirm. Click Fix.
  • ✗ Cannot be fixed from this PC. Click “Copy for IT” and send the text to whoever manages the NAS or printer.

A shared folder that does not open

Drives already connected to this PC (Z: and so on) are always checked. If a folder you open by its address does not open, type that address in the box (for example \\nas\documents) before you click the button.

What ReviveFix never does

  • It never lowers security settings, such as allowing sign-in without a password or turning on SMB1.
  • It never asks for or reads passwords. When you need to sign in, Windows asks you in its own window.
  • It never changes settings that your company manages.
  • It never sends anything over the internet.

Administrator rights

ReviveFix starts without administrator rights. Only when a fix needs them, such as starting the print spooler, Windows asks once. If you choose No, nothing changes and the item stays marked ⚠.

Help from your IT staff

“Copy diagnosis” copies the results, recent fixes and your Windows version. Paste it into an email or chat. It contains server, drive and printer names but no passwords.
